I have been to Matt's classes and had personal training sessions with him and I would recommend both to anyone looking to improve their physical and emotional well-being. If you commit to training with Matt you will almost certainly get fitter, healthier and feel better about yourself. Matt really knows his stuff in relation to training and physiology, no two sessions are ever the same, he has so many ideas to ensure that the training suits the current fitness level and goals of his client and, best of all, is fun. If you are thinking of trying Train Strong, I'd say give it a go, you won't regret it.

I first started training with Matt at Trainstrong in February 2015 and within 4 months I had lost around 10kg and was in the best shape of my life through a combination of PT and classes. So much more effective than a gym and a great sense of community too.

I have had fantastic training and support from Matt over the last 5 years. The classes are varied, fun and have shown me that I am able to achieve a lot more than I thought I could. Matt is always encouraging and is able to give lots of advice on healthy eating and ways to get fitter and stronger. He has helped me to train for the London Marathon which is something I would never have considered before I joined Train Strong, I highly recommend Train Strong and in particular the Relentless classes.

I joined Matt's bootcamp back in December 2013, being just over 19st I was in real need to gain back my fitness, to loose a considerable amount of fat and overhaul my life generally. I had tried many times to go it alone and shift the weight and to get fitter. I was looking for something very different and Matt's session's certainly delivered. I've now been attending the Train Strong outdoor sessions for two and half years, and in that time I have lost weight, gotten fitter, and become strong. I found the Train Strong community welcoming and found like minded positive individuals who have been supportive and fun to workout with. It has continued to be an amazing environment for me to be apart of and to train in. The sessions that Matt delivers are fun, varied, original, and informative, you hardly know where the hour goes, but can guarantee you will walk away feeling good about yourself and smiling!

I hadn't realised how much Matt's approach to fitness and health had changed me as a person until I had an unfortunate accident back in 2015 were I tore my calf muscle severely, putting me out of action. In the past this would have been enough to deter me from carrying on with any form of exercise. However, the time I had been with Matt I learnt how determined I had become, how much I loved to train and how capable I was. So equipped with these new tools and mindset and with a long road of recovery ahead of me. Matt and I set about to shake things up. Through Matt's help, encouragement, extensive knowledge and expertise I realised my training didn't have to stop. Matt continued to support my progress during this time, through using online training and later on Personal Training sessions when my calf was strong enough to take training to the next level. Matt's vast wealth of skills and professionalism has seen my training change so much in one year, from modifying my training to accommodate my injury to concentrate on mobility, technique to support continued movement. I now move and hold myself better and I'm actively performing movements better than I was before the injury. I've now moved to personal one-to-one training session's with Matt, where I've continue to develop personally and get amazing results, a few PB's and a new goal to aim for later this year. I look forward to everyone of my PT sessions as each have been challenging. Demanding a lot of my mindset as much as it does of my body. However, after each session I feel incredibly satisfied with the direction me and my training are heading in.

No matter how you choose to train with Matt, you will experience a trainer who will take the time to get to know you, understand how you tick and use this to continually provide creative fun sessions which will continue to challenge you and progressively get you closer to your goals whether they are fitness, endurance, weight or strength based targets. Matt will be a formidable alliance in tackling these and getting you towards the results you desire. I can highly recommend Matt and the Train Strong outdoor classes.

It seems to us at The Commando Temple that every man and his dog wants to be a personal trainer or coach these days...It can be hard locating the right people to trust your time, effort and coin.
We have no reservations in strongly endorsing Matt as a first class trainer, guide and mentor!
